History

April was born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia. She has one sibling, an older brother (of three years) named Benny (full name Benjamin Coffin III). She always idolized her big brother, and was beyond proud of him when he got accepted to NYU's TIsch School as a dance major. She played peacekeeper for a couple of months before Benny left, because their parents had expected Benny to go to Brown and be a business major. They even, at one point, threatened not to pay for college if Benny went to Tisch, but they changed their minds, largely due to April's constant pleading that they support his dream like they'd always supported her dream of being a singer. She visited Benny quite a bit during her sophomore and junior years in high school, and after junior year she moved up to New York with him - she had graduated a year early.

April had always had a bit of a wild streak, and soon got into the clubbing and party scene. For the first couple of years, it was mostly getting drunk once a week or so, but around the time she turned 20, she started using drugs. Nothing too hard, or too often, at first, but after a few months she started shooting up. By the time she turned 21, she was deep into it and completely addicted, had lost her job, and showed no signs of pursuing her dreams or getting a new job.

She had a string of lousy boyfriends, in between which she'd sleep around quite a bit, with guys and girls, despite the fact that she claimed to be straight. Her only worthwhile relationship was with a sweet Jewish filmmaker named Mark Cohen. They dated for nearly a year, from shortly before her 20th birthday to shortly before her 21st, during which she got into drugs, despite Mark's pleas that she not. He asked her time and again to stop using, and she always said she would, but never did. Finally, Mark reluctantly told her that he couldn't emotionally handle both her and his best friend Roger shooting up, and that they couldn't keep seeing each other. He did add to look him up when she got cleaned up. April had been deeply in love with Mark, and the breakup, instead of giving her a reason to get clean, drove her deeper into the drugs and the parties. She told Benny, later, that she had broken up with Mark, because she didn't want Benny to blame Mark for her drug usage, which she knew he would. Besides, she understood why Mark had broken up with her and truely believed it was better for him, at least.

She's still shooting up regularly, and sleeping around, but has somehow managed to escape getting HIV or anything. She's also been getting in a lot of fights with Benny about her using. She refuses to admit that she's become completely dependant on the smack, but deep down she knows she is and wants to get clean, for Benny and so she might get Mark back.

Build: Slender and curvy. In other words... svelt. Sexy.
Other: April is rather too-thin at the moment, due to her heroin addiction. She also has track marks on her arms, although they're kindof hard to see because of her dark skin.
